For the last two years I have been making a series of small dioramas about the Battle of Berlin; I will show them in this thread and hope you like it.
Here you are the first one: 251 halftrack, 2nd of may 1945. “Der Krieg its vorbei”, War is over so these exhausted soldiers are drinking and waiting for the soviets to take them prisoners.
This is the old but reliable Tamiya kit; it lacks the fineness and detail of the 251 Dragon but you can make it work with a good weathering.
Another two I finished two months ago. As a matter of fact, two small dioramas came out from the SdKfz 251 Falke from Dragon since the box includes four figures with night vision equipped weapons.
In my mind it was too obvious to put the figures along with the halftrack in a single scene so I grabbed the Italeri wall in ruins I had in my stash, added a piano from MiniArt and that was it.
The two soldiers walking in front of the 251 come from the Panzerschreck box from Dragon; I can’t remember where I got the figure on the back…
I´m not a figure painter at all, so this is always the weakest part in my dioramas. Anyway, hope you like it.
Regards
I have just finished this one yesterday: “Per aspera ad inferi” (to hell the hard way). The old musician is leaving Berlin in April 1945 while SdKfz 251/22 and crew are coming to the city to fight against the now very near soviet troops.
Kit is Dragon 1/35 Sd.Kfz.251/22 with 7.5cm PaK 40 # 6963; the musician figure is from MiniArt 38084 kit.
