As per my usual SOP I am working on a small vignette in between 2 on-going large dio projects. I do this so I have a sense of completing something and to thus, hopefully , not get burned out.
Only a 2 figure vignette. Here is the beginning where I chose the initial figures and associated bits.
Some paint slapped on.
The fig is just placed in an old dio for presentation here and will go in a [bespoke setting later.
Nice job on lots of things with this figure!
Sorry to jump in and correct you Jerry, but that is not slapping on paint. Slapping on paint to the rest of us means the result is half ar$ed and this is sooooo not that! That is a really nicely done figure with an accurate expression for the situation they’re in and a well crafted prop in the form of a blanket. Nice!
Thanks Phil,mucho appreciated.
Thanks for the very generous and also well written comments! Glad you liked it,
J
Next and final guy done for the vignette. Dragon modified figure with Warriors head and putty overcoat. Asst gunner kit alongside as well as a extra blanket.
Beautiful work on both figs JR . Love the camo !!!
Great looking pair of figs there Jerry. You’ve got an interesting contrast between the guy with the head bandages and the five o’clock shadow and the more fresh faced soldier with the STG. They look decidedly concerned about whatever they are looking at too- a plane perhaps or the sound of some mortars/artillery in the distance. As always the various bits of kit and uniform are placed and picked out with your signature care and attention to detail.
Thanks buddy!
J
Thanks as always for the very nicely written and gracious words. You actually did remind me that I had planned for the unshaven face with the kneeling guy as well. I just forgot! Easily rectified though.

22 December’44 and the northernmost German battlegroup in the Ardennes offensive finds itself blocked and then surrounded by the US 30th Inf Division, the 82nd Abn Division plus several tank units. Pounded endlessly by artillery the Germans radio for resupply. On the night of 22 Dec five Ju52s lumber over the area guided to their target, the hilltop village of LaGleize, Belgium, by German MG’s firing at max elevation to drop critical gas and ammo supplies. The attempt is a dismal failure with most of the para containers falling in American hands..
Here a MG on the thinly held perimeter is startled to see the MGs suddenly firing behind them.
Modified Dragon figures with Hornet heads. Painted backdrop. No AI was harmed during this production.
Jerry,
Nicely done! I may have said this once before, but I believe your true calling is film production. … “And … ACTION!” ![]()

As always with your work Jerry, it’s the tiny details that really make this just excellent. Great figures in a natural setting showing natural emotions!
Thanks ol buddy. Yeah, frustrated film maker right here. What can I say ?
Thanks man.
Great work again! I get a kick out of playing with your pictures but I hate that this dilutes the delicacy of your camo painting…or paint slapping or slathering, whatever you call it. The rest of us just call it magnificent…
Thank you kind sir for the excellent comments plus the fantastic photo shopping! It looks so cool,
J
Spectacularly impressive work as per normal Jerry.
Those K59 Production and 1120 Production are really nicely detailed MG’s. I could not for the life of me attach the PE straps to the swivels on the MG42 and MG34, way too difficult for me.
Very cool JR , very cool !!!
