Fantastic everything EXCEPT - that bridge is far too low.

No vessel of any size would clear moving under that bridge. You can see far, far more space is required. I’m surprised it got the green light, but there is a pretty easy way out.

Way out = buy 1/35 walls and or embankments from any number of companies like Royal Models, old Verlinden, Miniart, cut foam and carve pattern or use Milliput and easily press in a stone pattern, Fields of Glory, Dio Dump and RT Diorama.

First off - welcome to the forum. Always good to see new members.

You’re right. But the entire scene is compressed - the street is not nearly wide enough. I believe the height of the bridge may been compressed to save the modeler from having to model the water and everything in it - or simply to keep it from being too high. Sometimes we just have to suspend belief a tad.

Here’s the actual scene:

As you can see, the wording on the buildings is correct, but it’s still not identical, Of course, post war those buildings may have undergone a total facade rebuilding, although redoing those ground floor windows seems a tad unlikely.

I’m not bothered by it - like you said, you could raise it up.

By the way, I’m no Berlin bridge expert - but I did sleep in a Holiday Inn Express once.

How do sir.

I see what you mean - excellent photos BTW.

It’s very obviously a major city’s bridge over a river, in this case Berlin. VG Dio have done unsurpassed 1/35 COMPLETE buildings. There’s a habit if many to “slice” structures & put them at angles, making it much harder to incorporate them with other structures. I don’t like it.

Understandable regarding a bridge’s length. Height is a very different matter. Most bridges, especially in European capitals, aren’t that high up - they were built to accommodate only little boats & very low barges. Eg: I’ve gone under the Pont de Jena many times & the Alma Bridge especially, in Paris, and they’re pretty close to the River Seine. Look at Jason Bourne in Berlin. The Central London bridges over the Thames are a bit higher.

It would have needed 5 inches more & it woukx be convincing.

Anyway, here’s 1 of my 1/35 / 1/32 dioramas involving a wrecked, ancient bridge.

Good morning,

We are sorry that the product has not met your expectations. It is very difficult to satisfy everyone, especially when launching a reference of this kind.

The original idea for this reference was to recreate the scene shown in the photograph shared by our colleague. However, we had to make some adjustments to it. Due to the overall dimensions the piece would have reached, we decided to resize certain elements.

Reproducing the street width exactly as in the original was not feasible, and we also had to significantly reduce the height of the bridge. Please note that even so, the total height of the diorama is 45 cm. It is always possible to add a few extra centimeters of wall to give it more height if desired.

Thank you very much for your comments.

Thank you for the grace of your response. As I stated, the overall look & finish is outstandingly good. I’d go so far to state that the 1/35 buildings are the best I’ve yet seen. Such loving detail & elegance. It’s a celebration of European architecture going through one its high points.

The bridge height issue, as we all state, can be pretty easily rectified. Just as your company did with that very tall Paris apartment block, (a truly stunning piece of work) in multiple separate stages, (due to the height) you could provide a separate option of an embankment to increase the height between the river and the bridge for those wanting to purdue that line.

Kind Regards
