AFV. Some fiddly small bits. Comes with a metal barrel. I used the kit tracks but AM are available.

Agreed. AFV Club’s is light years ahead of the old Italeri kits.

And it’s a fine kit. But I’m surprised the usual suspect hasn’t cut and pasted his response to the question of the “Best kit of X?”
Most detailed? Most accurate? Lower part count? (Some folks really don’t care for all the fiddly bits.) Best value for the money?

I’ve built three of the AFV Club Paladins, all with scratch built interiors -

And they are indeed the best detailed and most accurate of the bunch. Given the difference in price however, I can see where some folks could be tempted to get the Italeri kit. For the cost of the AFV Clb kit you could get two of the Italeri kits and have mony left over for lunch. It’s certainly not a dog of a kit, although I did have to add quite a bit of detail, but I do that with most any kit.

I’m not saying you should get the Italeri kit. I’m just letting you know there are worse kits out there. The (ahem) Panda M109A7 for example.

Ultimately it comes down to what your goal is. But you can build a show stopper with either one.

The P-Word is not that bad. Ok, it is that bad. :face_with_peeking_eye:

I can say that the Italeri Paladin can indeed be built up nicely, but I have a couple of AFV Club kits in my stash too.

These are from a build I did in 2006. (WOW, so long ago already) Yes, I know I did not remove some things that need removing, but it was a commission build and time is money (they did not care).

I did tons of research for them for the 109 families as well as others that they later produced I spent days taking pics and measurements for them
I’m talking thousands of pictures that thank god for digital camera’s and memory cards.

Sure, the Italeri Paladin came come out great, with some extra work. I built a bunch of them over the years when it was the only option. The AFV Club will come out great almost out of the box. The AFV Club one is still the best one on the market, which was the original question.
