Best tank that never was

I agree, I would have dorked it six different ways. Great job Jesper.

Thanks for the comments, guys. More progress on markings, Light chipping, and tracks.

More to follow soon :slightly_smiling_face:

I am calling this one done. I am already starting to plan a 1946 diorama with it, so I have kept weathering light - local dust and dirt will follow in the diorama.

Very satisfied with the old dragon kit. I added a chain and some after market tracks, but otherwise strait out of the box.

Really a big beast and big model :slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks for the comments, guys! :raised_hands:t2:

I am also quite satisfied. It is a big canvas and was a bit concerned if I could make it interesting in overall yellow. :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi gang,

I know we’re all busy preparing for the calorie-challenged reverse-burgler in the red suit to visit our homes! But with only two weeks to go, I thought I’d check on progress. A quick stroll through the thread shows completed models from SGTJKJ and fromSalekhard, as well as a number of builds from sluff that look to have been completed pre-Campaign. Then there’s a bunch that were started but gone silent. How’s everyone else doing? My own entry is complete (as of last night!) but I need to take final photos.

Remember, I did ask for in-progress pics and a completed pic to earn the award!

Unfortunately life got in the way for me Tom. I still have 3 undergoing paint and weathering which I hoped to have finished months ago…

Sorry to hear that Pete! That pesky “real life” has scuppered far too many of my own Campaign builds too…

Same here, my kit never even made it off of the shelf of hope. Too many other projects and pulls on my time.

If I were to run a “part 2” campaign next year, should I allow unfinished builds from this one?

You raised an interesting topic and I am very glad that you plan to continue it. It will be a pity if we fail to see projects that people did not have time to complete. I propose next year to take into account new projects and those people who will apply before the end of this group assembly. It probably can be photos of started assemblies.
Completely at your discretion.
PS. I myself have a desire to make more models on this topic.

I would be able to finish one in a part 2 or even if you extended this one by say 6 months

Well I can’t get another six months - the Campaigns guru would have a fit. But I can start another one in January that allows incomplete builds from this one to be carried over! Of course new builds also welcome…

Yes, indeed that is the way to do it in my humble opinion. I do the same with the Sci-Fi campaigns I run. Any unfinished build from a previous campaign can be finished in a later campaign.

Well, here is my almost-tank! I did not weather it much at all, and I used the awful Tamiya tracks because I wouldn’t get an AM set built in time, but that can always change later…

Great job Tom. The scratch built turret came out perfect.

Thanks! For the Part 2 campaign I might do the ?Raytheon competitor that mounted the Gepard turret.
