Bismarck & Tirpitz Ship kits question

Good Evening Guys,
Quick question- Are the “Vintage”Tamiya 1/350 kits of the Bismarck & the Tirpitz the same kits? My local hobby shop got both kits in recently and since I already have a 1/350 kit of the Bismarck(Mini Hobby)in my stash I’m leaning towards the Tirpitz unless the Mini Hobby kit is terrible then I’ll get another Bismarck kit. I’m doing some early Christmas shopping for myself :christmas_tree::santa:t2:

Hi,

While similar, there are difference between the two kits. Most notably in the area around the hangars.

Hi Tom,

Jay is correct, the two Tamiya kits (like the originals) are very similar but with different features around the hangars, radars, AA fit, etc., appropriate for the Bismarck or Tirpitz. I’d say buy whichever Tamiya ship you would like to build most, because even though they date back to the 1970s I think you will find either their Bismarck or Tirpitz to be superior to the Mini Hobby kit.
