I would like to find books on the origins of two special forces: SAS and the Navy Seals.
Obviously I saw a few episodes from Rouge Heroes and would like to learn more about what happened in real life - so if there is one great book (there are many on google play store), I would like to know which one to choose.
With the Navy Seals I read a long time ago an excerpt about a guy who could not swim, so he essentially walkted through a swimming pool during selection, and I would like to read more about him and the whole process of setting the organization up. Thank you.

Well, the series Rogue Heroes is actually based on the book SAS Rogue Heroes: The History of the SAS, Britain’s Secret Special Forces Unit That Sabotaged the Nazis and Changed the Nature of War by Ben Macintyre

all three founding members of the SAS have had books written about them, David Stirling. Jock Lewes and Paddy Mayne. you should be able to find them doing a quick google search.

Might be an interesting one. 20 years ago one of my lecturers at university warned to treat anything Stirling wrote with scepticism. Always stuck with me. This book seems to back that up. One I need to pick up myself, but I have enough already in my ‘to read pile’.

Damien Lewis (not that Damian Lewis), has also written a number of books on the SAS.
If you want to look at later Post-War operations, Rowland White’s ‘Storm Front’, detailing the operations in Oman in the 70’s is an excellent read.
