Border Models Kugelbliztz

Hi there,

Just finished the Kugelblitz with minimal weathering. as I got tired of the kit. I came with a couple of pieces missing, I managed to screw up the link and length tracks and melt one idle wheel with the hair drier, the turret interior went nowhere. The airbrush was coughing like someone with tuberculosis.

So replaced the tracks with RFM workable plastic one, added resin idlers and committed the turret interior.
Maybe some will like it still.

The small base and the front sandbags are my first time working with plastic goo (Thanks for the much time on YouTube).

despite the issues you had, it still seems good to me, with the airbrush, if it start doing that, I usually do a deep cleaning.

I tried that, but apparently I have too many color brands and not everyone I can thin properly. In these case it was AKs 3rd Gen

I like the KugelBlitz. You’ve made a valiant effort with the build! Attention to detail with tied down stowage and the bucket hung on the exhaust are very nice. Congratulations on trying a new to you technique with making your own sandbags & base.

FWIW - coughing or airbrush sputters can be due to excess moisture. Do you have a moisture trap on your set up and empty it regularly?

Thanks for your kind words. Wish I knew how to make my posts more engaging.

I don’t have a compressor with a tank, and indeed it starts to heat up and to form water droplets. But my problems were mostly with AK 3rd gen paints, the only 3-tone cammo I had at home, as i don’t really know how to thin it with its own thinner.

i think you did a good job, I’m a big fan of weathering.,… But as with anything a lot can be to much!

On Airbrushes, soaking it overnight usually takes care of any clogs.
