BRDM-2MS Dragon 1:35

Hello everyone and Merry Christmas, my latest little job, the BRDM-2 MS in service in the Russian army used in the SVO, I’m setting up a small diorama in which to set it with some figures

Hi, it is a very nice model, I like it.
I have to say that I’ve built a model from the same kit of Dragon, and after some years I’ve found that all the tyres were broken for ageing. i suggest to consider some remedy, should the same thing happen to your model.

I like it. I’ve been looking at possibly doing something similar and have been looking for a cheap Trumpeter BRDM 2 late and doing a Serbian version. Did you scratch all of the applique armour and thermal sight?

@MassimoTessitori Yes it has already happened, I repaired them with cyano, I hope they don’t break again and it must be said that the wheel rim does not put tension on the tire so I remain confident.
@Maximus8425 Oh yes yes, it’s a scratchbuilt, sorry I didn’t write it, it’s the old Dragon kit, I don’t know that a kit of this version exists.
Now I’ll also post photos of the work done on the kit

This is the starting point, an older kit that i was thinking to be used as a destroyed vehicle

Lovely scene centred around a very interesting take on the BRDM- all the extra armor gives it a unique look and I particularly like the way you have weathered it- this helps tie it to your realistic base-work. Your figure work is first rate too- great facial expressions and interaction between the four of them. What brand are the figures you used?

Wow I don’t know how I missed this. Excellent job on the scratch building and finish. Your figures are excellent too, a great scene! Excellent job Lucio!

Thank you all for your appreciation, the figures used are a mix of pieces taken from various dragon kits, masterboxes and other parts taken from the spareparts bank, all then modified with magic sculpt, only the pilot’s head comes from a Hornet resin set of a mature man as it often happens to see in the various videos, for the other figures for which I created the balaclava I used heads from plastic kits. Unfortunately it didn’t occur to me to take photos because I hadn’t considered posting them at the time.

Keep an eye out on the horrid rubber tire Dragon/DML use
one of 2 things will happen with the tires they will eaither start to ooze some sort of oily residue
or they will get very hard and brittle and break

The kit is 30 years old, the tires are seasoned, luckily they didn’t sweat but they had already broken, I repaired them with cyano and luckily as there is no tension between the rim and tire I hope nothing else happens, thanks for the warning
