Bristol Bulldog Latvian Airforce interwar

Gentlemen after exactly one month working on and off at this brandnew 1:48 scale AIRFIX Bristol Bulldog I would like to show you my first finished aircraft project for this year. This is one of a handful aircraft which served within the latvian airforce in the nineteen thirties until the last remaining ones were taken over by Russia as it invades the baltic states in 1940.

The Airfix kit was great and relaxativ to build. I did used SBS 3d printed engine and their stainless steel rigging wires (patience and exact working necessary here!), Eduard etched set and the decals stolen from Eduard´s limited edition of the Gloster Gladiator. The figure is from Plusmodel and the base is AK Airfield Steppe dry which I didn´t liked originally due to the very artificial look. I decided to pour artificial snow over it to represent a cold snowy day in the early winter days in the baltic and this way I like it much better:

Hope you like it  :raised_hand_with_fingers_splayed:

very nice work, what was your technique for assembling the cabane struts? that part is giving me fits on my Roden Nieuport build.

Nice … but looking at that rigging makes me fully realise why I will never build a Biplane :see_no_evil:

Thank you David, these stainless steel struts from SBS does all have a small pin at their ends. SBS gave the advise to drill out holes with a 3 mm drill where Airfix mentioned the attaching points to the kit for these struts. It worked out ok for me.

Cheers  :raised_hand_with_fingers_splayed:

Never say never John, once in the year it could be fun indeed. Together with these SBS stainless steel struts in the correct lenght it could be fun indeed  :raised_hand_with_fingers_splayed:
