Did the British guns fire during The Channel Dash? How did the Germans select targets? Looks like a cool subject. Thanks for writing it up.

As evinced by this excellent small scale model seen earlier this year at the Yeovil (UK) model show - back in April:

They did but were pretty much unsuccessful which angered Churchill and he criticized his troops for not being able to stop the German ships.

Like the British, the weapons were positioned to cover key areas such as possible landing sites and shipping routes and those were their intended target areas. It is discussed how the Germans would target British cities out of retaliation for German targets having been hit by the British.

Cool! Any information what scale? Just from the size of the base on the flag I’m guessing 1/72-76.

Yes - it was either of those; I wish I’d persuaded my mate (who took the pics for his website blog) had taken more of it; a delightful little model but well executed too.
