I’d like to add a British LVT-4 to my endless to-do list, but don’t know where to start. Presumably the AFV club early and late kits are the best choice, but which will need the least amount of modification to produce a British vehicle from the crossing of the Rhine?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
The most prominent feature of British LVT-4s during the Rhine crossing was the 20mm Polsten cannon. Cromwell Models and Resicast used to make them in 1/35.

This vehicle from a Star Decals sheet is what caught my eye, no Polsten and no machine gun in the hull front. This narrows it down to the early version kit I believe

The Polsten wasn’t fitted to all Buffaloes - many retained the usuel .50 or .30 cal armament

The Early version by AFV Club is your best option. These had the bubble top hatches and no armoured viewing ports on the cab:
