Bronco back with a Krupp kfz 70

I made the Tamiya one back in the day, may be time to do another.

Wow yeah forgot about that one. Anyone on the site ever build one?
I don’t have one in my stash currently. I built the Tamiya one ages ago when I was a kid on the 70s.

Read a build online-looked to be overly complex kit.

I don’t mind pointing out that while the Tamiya kit is OLD. That doesn’t mean it’s a POS. It has some flaws but is a solid build. I am sure Bronco’s offering will be replete with all sorts of “do dads” the younger generation loves. But on a lark try Tamiya’s kit. You might be surprised.

Don’t have to read a review, it’s the company motto, just like AFV Club and Miniart.

I’ve done the Tamiya one three times. I quite like it, despite the wonky wheels. At least it’s a straightforward easy build. I have lost interest in the manufacturers that virtually duplicate the build up of the actual vehicle in the number of parts (hello Gecko), life’s too short and anyway, wasn’t slide moulding etc supposed to do away with the need for multi part assemblies?

I still love Tamiya old kits if for no other reason than nostalgia.
My son bought me the old Tamiya German 75mm anti tank gun as a Christmas gift, I can’t wait to build it. I think I have the Dragon kit as well.

Nice to see the cargo body type.

I have built several Tamiya ones over the years, this type and the later Pak tractor type, including one where I actually corrected all the mistakes and up-detailed it - not a lot left of the original in the end…

Tamiya’s is a fun, weekend build, but is certainly 70’s standard in appearance and detail, and it does show.

The Bronco one has a lot more parts and is a bit tricky to build in places, but to be honest parts count is not much more than an old 1970-80’s Italeri truck kit. The majority of the parts are chassis and suspension, just like everyone else’s truck kits.I have built one and actually prefer it.

It is designed with an engine you can show off, so the parts count there is high, too, but don’t build more than the bottom half if you don’t want to.
