Hi again, here’s another one that’s on my bench for sometime.
I tried this kit some years ago, but when it was almost finished it fell and was beyond recovery… so I managed to get another one, I also got a lot of AM items (engine, antennas,wheels,3D printed decals, weapons, mine-roller, ammo, etc…)
Been working on it for a few months now, Today I worked on the seats.
The engine is quite nice, so are the wheels, but to be honest the kit’s wheels are perfect
the resin ones look good but there isn’t such a huge improvement .
The deflectors under the seats should be black. the correct suspension looks like this. If you want to make corrections in line with the original, I’m here to help.
It’s the second one on the right; next to the Tamiya M1025 (left) and the Academy M1151 (middle) and a really old Tamiya Hummer with the Bushmaster cannon (right).
Yup; the M1114 Uparmored Humvees had the 12-bolt pattern wheels, while the newer ECV Humvees have the 24-bolt pattern rims. The older M998s had 8-bolt pattern wheels for further annoyance. Doesn’t matter much, since both rims fit all the vsariants of the Humvee.
Cool subject matter and choice of model. I have couple off these in my collection waiting to build. I think the resin wheels give that bulge look which fully loaded hmmwv needs but I have seen OOTB builds that look pretty awesome. Too bad, there isn’t a 1/16 kit of this of this. Perhaps, things might change in future since we are starting to see all new 1/16 kits.
A lot to be done here too… I will need to clean up the dashboard for the 3D decals first, and paint too.
A lot of PE too… but my main issue was installing the Resin engine bay since the parts that join the main body were cut off, it took me awhile but I think I got it. Not 100% sure I admit…
This one is the base vehicle without the OGPK turret, Ibis-Tek front bumper; Frag 5 doors and Rhino Anti-IED pad. It builds nicely, but I’m not a big fan of Bronco models.
