BTM-3 Grabenbagger 1:35

Here is another model from the AT-T series. It is the BTM-3 mine excavator, which was introduced into the patrol forces in the mid-1970s. The BTM-3 is the successor to the BTM, which was in use from the mid-1960s. The machines differ in the way the bucket wheel is attached to the vehicle. I used the Trumpeter kit and chains from Friul. The model was built with suspension on the chassis so that a realistic representation of the working position can be shown. The fit of the parts is, as always, good. Unfortunately, Trumpeter forgot the chains for the scraper buckets on the bucket wheel. You have to add them yourself. It’s a good kit, I think. Here are some pictures on this topic.

I also think that AT-T-based vehicles are an interesting task for model building. Unfortunately, you can’t see much of them in the model building forums. That’s why I decided on this topic. There is still one vehicle missing in this category, then I will have presented all the AT-T-based pioneer vehicles here in the forum.
Here are some more pictures.

The continuation of the construction. Here are a few more pictures. Since the construction went smoothly, I didn’t take many pictures. The instructions were very detailed, so that anyone who is new to model building can do the work. The coloring looks a bit unusual in the photos, probably due to the lighting when taking the photos.

I’ll now close the BTM-3 topic and show you the pictures of the finished model. I can only recommend the kit. I would never have thought that Trumpeter would bring this model onto the market. Enjoy looking at the pictures.
