The canvas shack on the back, on the box art, it a British addition. The box art is a take on this pic:

I have this kit in the stash and will be following along here.

Looking at my references, it may be that the kits torque rod mounts are set too far inboard, hence the bend (assuming the brake housing back has a circular mount on it):

OK, this is funny. They spelled Hercules wrong on the side of the engine:

It should look like this:

Actually the pic for the right engine is this:

I think I read somewhere it was intentional Ken. You are supposed to shave them off and swap them. It was done to avoid copyright issues just like Dragon did “ContinentaU” on their Panzer IV roadwheels, instead of ‘Continental’ - so you trim part of the ‘U’.

I think you either swapped the rear axles or at least the gearbox on the center-most rear axle. If the gearbox was the other way, the driveline would be in a straight line.

This is actually not that uncommon in truck layouts. The Diamond T 980 had angled shafts:

I don’t know how this pic came about (drawing or retouched photo - a common thing back then) but I find the inward angled rear wheel sets interesting…

I hope I’m done for today I got everything screwed up.

Pic #92. That wheel is the parking brake. When turned clockwise it locks the rear wheels.

I think #93 is where they intend the light relay switch to be located. It is different in the Technical Manual though:

It is not uncommon for different manufacturers to take some liberties like this. It may even be that they researched a surviving trailer which had been modified.

As you can see in the pic, there is another brake actuator wheel on the front of the dolly for the brakes on that. Note also the angle of the blocks. Don’t sweat that, I do not think they had any mounting points. This pic shows them to one side

One of the greatest sources of information to a modeller are the Technical Manuals created for the mechanics in workshops. Many of these have been digitised and can be found on the net. They have excellent photos of parts of the vehicle/equipment they are written for. They do vary in photo reproduction but some have excellent resolution. Have a look through this:

You need to subscribe to download, but you can scroll through the whole 446 pages if you just want something in particular.
