Real Model did a conversion for this years ago, not sure if it’s still available.

GDR NVA had also the Soviet version of the “Seep” GAZ-46.

Dang it, Bobby! Stop distracting me with interesting side projects.

The main difference with the DUKW is the changed rear, holding a folding down rear ramp. Looks like an “easy” conversion.

In addition to the “side paneling”, it is close but different cuts and the wheel wells are seamless. Probably need Zil under carriage bits or submerses in water to hid them.

Hi Ryan,
switching from IE to Firefox I found more pics and even a drawing. I hope my LHS still has Italeri DUKW in stock. Will see tomorrow. I think I will only use some AM Zil wheels, I don´t care whats under the skirts.

Ryan, what do you think?

That drawing and photo suggests the Italeri still could work.

I saw these on wiki which suggests it was one sheet.

Looks like you have options for the project.

I found some 50 plus pics of the truck. I build NVA models with less references. :slightly_smiling_face:

A job for a rainy Sunday.

Build the first track for my SPW-50 PU. Had to drill out 200 links with a 0,4 mm bit. Now need a way to stabilize the track when attaching.

Hope you had a nice beer after that!

Started DML´s SA-9 kit.

Most important is to rebuild the launcher. Kit is a little simple, but given it´s age, its o.k.
Tires need to be replaced.

Hm, never saw those DML tires in tan . Nice work with the turret rebuild.

I think it was called Dragon Styrene or something.

Interesting. I didn’t know they molded their tires with DS, thought it was just for tracks.
