In that last photo, something seems to be skewed, though. The tailgate looks like it sits lower on the right than on the left, but I can’t tell why.
If you look at the first photo the right corner appears to be pushed out. So I think that might account for the distorted view.
Thanks. I think you posted that before. I have saved and printed it off for later use.
I’m not sure that accounts for the top of the tailgate not being parallel to front edge of the plastic card extension to the load bed. Let’s hope these bits are still loose and just held in place for the photo
Exactly that!
Thanks. I had seen that yesterday while doing research. Some sites suggested Zil-151 suspension parts were used and others indicated the BTR-152 had a similar suspension. Looks like a few different production runs may account for the confusion.
I was looking at using the Skif BTR-152 kit to covert the suspension at it was a cheaper price than the Trumpeter kit.
One thing is confusing to me in the engine exhaust and where it is located. You modified the intakes.
Hi Ryan, that is a good question. Where is the exhaust on the DUKW? Maybe it´s located in a similar place?
I founds this video, but it gives no explanation…

My book says that is was based on Zil-151 components.
Unfortunately I cannot find my copy of Doyle’s Dukw book. I did find this where it appears to come out a pipe on the starboard side intake.
The video was interesting, I think the automatic tire inflation was a BTR-152 item.
Here are two pics from the Doyle book that show the position of the exhaust; the extension in the 2nd one seems to have been a one-off version, as it doesn’t appear in any of the other photos in the book. Happy modeling!
Peter
DUKWs had it as well. You can recognise it on some by the air lines on the outside of the wheels:
Thanks Paul. Jakko’s photo shows probably another limited mod exhaust to keep it away from general public’s face.
Thanks, I knew the Dukw had one but I was under the impression it was a different system for the 152. This Tankograd photo shows a similar system.
Great addition.
Nice scratch build.
Cheers,
Ralph
Some progress on DML SA-9 correction build. A lot of crude details need to be rebuild. DEF Model wheels help a lot.
Some progress on the turret
But still a long way to go…
I expect WWP Books issue on BTR-60 this week. Will help me with my BTR-60PU build
