The BT-11 tower would look amazing on the display tables but sadly, beyond my skills. However, I do have a project which will include a wooden tower from the earlier days, planned to be built with a GAZ 69 and a few figures, hopefully in the earlier camouflage uniform Flachentarnmuster, or even the Russian pattern camouflage; we’ll see. Sadly, not just yet(!)

Found this interesting movie on Youtube.

Schützenpanzer PSH is a vehicle that no one did in 1/35 scale ´til now.

Yes, I’ve seen this one - very interesting. I know there was a resin kit long, long ago; I was unaware there was one available now?

Scalemates says no.

Well, re the PzSH, it looks like Balaton are on the case:

but I’ve no idea as to when; I’ll certainly grab one when it comes along that’s for sure!

Hi Brian,
Gabor from Balaton Models confirmed the release of the PSzH/SPW PSH kit. I think I get me one, too.

Excellent news! If we had a few more pictures of it we could perhaps post this in the News bit.

I am really pleased about this. A possibility would be a Bereitschaftpolizei vehicle.

I forgot to include this picture:

Another set of NVA films.

MT-LB with 100mm MT-12 AT guns.
Another MT-LB on the list, sigh…

I find these films fascinating. Great shots of the vehicles yes.
It says this film is from 1985 which is when I was in West Germany. Any idea what base this was?
I like the part in the beginning when they are doing PT. They’re all so skinny.

Especially like the part when they’re running in the NBC gear and masks……hated that stuff!

It was Klietz Training Area, a few klicks west of Berlin.

Ok thank you HermannB

BTW, anyone besides Valkyrie and ICM make East German figures specifically? Some Russian vehicle models have East German markings and paint schemes it seems. Be nice to have some. I have the ICM set with East German heads from Hornet but that’s it.

Hi Richard,
I have sadly no other kits found than the ones you mentioned. And the ICM set OOP. I have Dragons 12cm mortar on order that I plan to use as Soviet 12 cm mortar in NVA service. Maybe I can convert a Wehrmacht crew into NVA.

Some WWII German figures come damned close to what you need. I have a 1/25 WWII figure piloting my Trabi through the Berlin Wall.

Yeah I’m thinking a conversion would not be that difficult to do. Their uniforms were similar to ww2 German ones I think except for that raindrop camo field uniform.

No wonder since the NVA uniform was closer to Wehrmacht than any other.
