Hi new to the forum i bought the Polar lights Munsters living room kit im currently building the Munster Koach for 2nd time first time since 02 i have always liked the show i thought the living room scene would be nice addition to my display cabinet and the Dragula eventually but i would like to know what paint to best replicate the green skin tone of Herman Lily Eddie and Grandpa?
Welcome to the forum.
Herman seems to have had a few different shades of green depending on the photo. If I were going on this shade, which seems fairly representative, I’d do the following:
Get a paint cup and add two colors on either side of it - Testors white and Testors “Caryola” green - their basic green color.
I’d mix three shades, slightly varied in shade. Then I’d paint his face in the darker shade, followed by the medium shade, leaving the darker shade in the recesses. Then the lightest shade on the highlights.
I’m sure if you ask ten different people you’ll get eleven different methods, but I like to keep things simple.
I bought some of these products…I haven’t tried them yet. These acrylic paint color sets can really help you save time, headache, and money in finding the proper colors.
Welcome aboard Matt.
A possible option, prime with a grey color and glaze with Vallejo Sky Green 70.974.
A lot of folks use that for AFV interiors. I use my white/green combo above to achieve the same color.
I appreciate the tipsi have never heard 9f caryloa green and i have been buying Testors paints for years
It looks Vallejo makes quite a few different shades i have never tried there paints yet
Or those other 2 brands
Thanks
I misspelled it - Crayola. But that’s why it’s in parenthesis. There’s no color by that name. It comes in that basic set most of us had as kids - black, white, red, yellow, green, blue, silver. I’m probably missing one - orange maybe? But with those you can pretty much make anything you want. I’ve been using the same bottle of basic green for about two decades now. A touch of green goes a long way.
Oh okay i have that shade
