i know a few of them in the Kiwi video, i served with Roma Shearers Husband who is still in the Armoured Corps as a Sgt Mgr.

here is a few of my pics i took last time on base of the NZ5.5 Bushmaster and a few of the initial trial versions they got for the SAS

comparing height with the NZLAVIII behind

ours had the wider rear door and front doors both sides on the 5.5 version

sun was a bit bright that day

the SAS Trial version which was more of a standard Australian one.

standard rear door on these ones

they even left the Aussie cam seat covers on in these ones

some other shots from online
HQ version

a previous defence minister (trying to take the glory from the previous one that brought them)

the previous defence minister who is ex army and arranged for these to be brought Ron Mark who had a better understanding of what we needed.

our guys take them some pretty rugged places (as we do with a lot of our vehicles) had a guy get out of the M113 i was driving and walk up the hill as he was packing himself with how steep it was we were going up.

Just found another Bushmaster thread in this section
https://forums.kitmaker.net/t/bushmaster-pmv/
If anyone wanted to start one for ASLAV/NZLAV variants that would be great. I can’t find any decent interior images of the ASLAV 25 (turret etc.) to upgrade the Trumpeter kit. There is a USMC LAV thread but not much detail there either…

for the NZLAV i have written a guide on converting the Trumpeter LAVIII into the NZLAVIII that i did over 4 years with at present just over 13,300 words and 400 odd pictures so lots of reference pics. if you would like a look you can download from my Google Drive here - NZLAVIII Guide - High Res 9.2024 Secured_Optimized.pdf - Google Drive

jpwalker: you are aware of Black Ops Models ?

Perhaps they might entertain your request?

Any idea about the added front “bumper” purpose ?

At first I thought it could be a mine roller attachment but the one used with the SPARK 2 looks to be different…

Attachment for mine roller ? I’ve seen similar for US MRAPs.

On this one the winch has been replaced with a locker hosting a 8kW DC power generator

I guess this setup is used with the Electronic Warfare Bushmaster version(s)

Thanks William, I am familiar with Black Ops’ excellent range :+1:. I was hoping to get enough info to be able to scratch a passable interior as viewed through open rear door.

anyone know how the trial of the Hybrid version went?
i cant see a full EV version working well but a Hybrid Electric Drive could be good in some situations as they are able to switch over to electric and silent run close to enemy, or for an HQ vehicle it meant they could sit for a long period of time running radios etc off the battery and then just start up to recharge rather than having to have a separate generator that would make far more noise.

The Bushmaster hybrid drive is a series hybrid propulsion system that combines a diesel engine with electric motors in the Australian Army’s Bushmaster armoured vehicle. The system allows the vehicle to operate on electricity for a period of time, while the diesel engine extends its range.

How it works

  • The Bushmaster hybrid drive has a diesel engine that provides power for the vehicle’s electronics and mission systems.
  • The Bushmaster also has electric motors that power each axle.
  • The Bushmaster’s batteries can power the vehicle for up to 24–36 hours.
  • The diesel engine can extend the vehicle’s range.

Benefits

  • The Bushmaster hybrid drive is quieter than the petroleum-fueled version.
  • The Bushmaster hybrid drive has smaller motors, which creates more cabin space.
  • The Bushmaster hybrid drive can be used to export electrical energy.

Future plans

  • The Australian Defence Force is considering electrifying its entire fleet.
  • Thales is working on electrically driven, optionally crewed, and systemically protected vehicles.

Dutch Bushmaster fitted with the experimental ‘NTP Early Warning System 2.0’ . This is a sensor head and computer for reconnaissance and observation. The system can detect IEDs and mines, for example due to ground disturbances.
