Thanks, Dan

Yes, of course. It’s a B2 and that is what was typically used. You will need to make some minor changes like leaving off the side skirts but relatively easy. Most carry the firing simulator on the barrel, easy to scratchbuild or available from Djiti:
Star Decals makes a specific sheet for these vehicles:

You can also use the Tiger kit to build the Brennus version:

Thank you. Not many tanks are painted bluish.
You can use the Meng kit for sure. You’ll have to create all the vidmods and add the firing simulator as mentioned by Jon.
The Tiger model would be more appropriate for the Urban warfare center OPFOR with the Berlin like camo.
Olivier
Thank you. Would anything need to be removed from the Meng kit? I noticed that on the decal sheet it did not have the box on the back of the turret (NBC unit?). Is that correct?
I’m after the bluish look.
Currently for some reasons the site does not upload my pictures. Here is a link to my site
But yes, the bustle bin was removed. The LLLTV was surrounded by a piece of metal to look like the IR light of a T-72, a fake bore evacuator was on the gun and fake fuel drums were installed at the back.
That was at the beginning of the FORAD (OPFOR). Many drums were lost or damaged during the training sessions so they were simply removed.
If you have the Tiger Model AMX 30 B2 Brennus, here is a walkaround of a FORAD one.
I only know of the Lebanese M50 painted blue.
What was the idea behind the FORAD blue? In the field it would stand out like a sore thumb, not very realistic in a combat simulation?
The images shown show black on blue, not 2 tones of blue.
Thank you
When the OPFOR was created the French army only had French tanks to play the enemy. So painting them differently was the option chosen to differentiate enemy from friends.
Olivier
I understand. However there are many more logical options, beside blue.
Sure. But it was the cheapest at the moment.![]()
Later on when the Leclerc was deployed in all the tanks units, the AMX 30B2 kept their 3-tone camo and no more vidmods were used.
Today as there is no longer AMX 30B2 in the OPFOR the enemy Leclercs (and other IFVs) have orange stickers applied.
Olivier
They have to look different to be noticeable and the blue is quite dull.
