Caterpillar D8 Crawler - WW2 - Burma

Hi folks

Looking for a model of a WW2 era Cat D8 crawler/dozer as per used by British forces in Burma.
I believe the Miniart Cats are D7s and the ones made by Hobby Link are Vietnam era.

Question is, if there is no WW2 era D8, can the Hobby Link “D8H Bulldozer Australian & Civilian Version” or others be used to backdate to a WW2 era model crawler? How much would be involved and does anyone have any decent online resources for a gap analysis to be carried out?

Cheers

Gary

MiniArt’s kits are D7s, yes. Those are smaller than D8s but bigger than D6s

According to Wikipedia, the D8H was introduced in 1958. However, from a non-thorough read of this page it seems like that model really is an updated version of the original RD8, via the wartime D8 and subsequent models. So I guess you could probably backdate the Hobby Link kit, if you get enough information together on the wartime D8 anyway.
