CEC YT-1300 Millennium Falcon by Bandai

Outstanding! So much really cool stuff going on here. I can read and read and read through this thread and pick up new details and ideas every single time.

Cheers, D

Thank you very much for your enthusiasm.
Then I want to show you the results from this weekend. I hope you found it cool too.

The back wall panels were still missing.

Here I made it easy for myself with the extremely large units. You can hardly see any of it afterwards anyway.

All the little squares are still missing.

And the view from the front. The fan blades are mounted just above the large structures on the bottom.

I think that rounds off the view of the top plate well.

And now also the couch.

Thanks, and again a small update is inserted.
I have installed the last big panel and the end is near… :man_dancing: :man_dancing: :man_dancing:

First the locking mechanism for the maintenance hatch. It now closes tightly with two small, strong magnets.

Preshading of the upper armor plates.

Base coat on it.

And here are the last two armor plates. Cut, cleaned and glued.
At the top, the small squares have already been given their lighter base color to increase the contrast.

It continues.
The back has two filters and very slight chipping.
I don’t even know if I still do dirt running.

But now the last segments have been added to the front.
The upper laser…

And the one on the big truncated pyramid.
The cover for the falcon holder is also designed.

All parts are now installed.

And again in total.

Ahoy dear model building community.

The dress rehearsal took place today. :dancer: :man_dancing:
The falcon was screwed onto its threaded rod one last time for testing.

I did some light chipping and fading on the base plate and am now checking to see if anything is missing anywhere.
Take a look at the bird.

The front laser looks in exactly the right direction for me.

The height and angle of the falcon looks good.

Of course, it is unnecessary to paint any further details in the middle.

There is still a little aging missing on the lower plate, front edge.

Sides look good too.

And the upper laser also shoots in the general direction of the falcon.

Also a few little things that I will improve. I expect my model to be completed next weekend.

Great work as usual. :+1::+1:

It could be photos, but something I noticed that I can’t shake. In the second to last photo from behind shot the placement looks decent but the first and last photo is appears the Falcon is too close to wall. It feels like if the Falcon can slide down a little bit it would be placed better. Again this could be the photos playing tricks and in person different angles it looks good I don’t know.

Hello Tank.
So I can’t go any further down with the falcon, otherwise it would sit on the plate. And I don’t think it makes sense to change the angle, as it would be too steep for me.
Take a look at the photo taken directly from above. I think the distance should be enough.

I didn’t mean vertical but more horizontally.

Like towards the yellow line, just a little bit. Again just the way photo make it look to my eyes. 1:1 may appear good and either way your model, your choice. I am still here enjoy a work of art. :+1::+1:

I understand what you mean. But I can’t change that anymore. To do this I would have to move the hole in which the threaded rod sits. Of course this is no longer possible. The only thing left to change is the angle and height of the bar.

Wow. … And a bigger WOW …that is spectacular… As simple as that… 2 sublime model builds of the highest standard…

And don’t forget … It’s Han flying this… He takes the Falcon to its limits :+1:

Thanks Johny.

That’s right, Han flies like a madman, very wildly.

Awesome…a true showstopper!

Is there some clear fluorescent blue film that you can stuff into the Falcon’s engines? It is just a suggestion…I don’t know how realistic it will look to portray the engines on and the clear blue film might not even show against the black engine trench so you might be wasting money with my idea.

I don’t want you to mess up a fine masterpiece just to depict the engines on…and it might be too late now.

Actually a good idea Peter.
And you’ll laugh, I actually got a film like that.
But as you correctly assumed, you can’t see them at all in the dark engine bay. And when the LEDs light up, it no longer looks good. That’s why no foil.

Fantastic, just fantastic!

Good morning dear model building friends.

Last night the last clear coat was applied after a year and two months.
It’s done, my falcon can finally take off.

The plate had to be placed on its back one last time to be able to do the details at the top.
But this time carefully supported on a foam.

Then off to the airbrush cabin. So as far as this huge structure goes.

All parts finished painted.

And one last picture of the finished record without her falcon.

So, that concludes my construction report. I’ll take some decent pictures of the model this weekend and then present them to you.

It was a great pleasure for me to embark on this journey with you into a galaxy far, far away.
