Scorpion Miniatures models is offering the Turret for the Action X, too.

So why buy the not accurate Amusing Hobby, if you can get all extras from SMM and a cheap AFV Club Centurion as a Base?

Heaven forbid. Some folks can live with things like that. I prefer not to.

Indeed.

That glacis plate is easy once you’ve scratched the boxed fender extensions.

I was not aware until just now that they did the turret.

SMM does TWO turrets,
one for the 20-pdr and one for the 105 mm L7.
There are some differences on the turret “roof”

SMM are the way to go if you want an accurate model, and who wants such an obscure tank if it isn’t accurate? But I’m amazed at how quick Amusing jumped on the bandwagon…

The AFV Club AVRE Mk5, has a rear Motordeck Fuel tank, but it is not a Mk7 hull. Something in between

Black is SMM Mk7 conv, oliv AVRE Mk5

The Mk.5 hull was extended to make room for an internal fuel tank at the rear of the engine compartment.
If I have understood it correctly:
AVRE with 165 mm demolition gun were based on Mk.5 hulls
AVRE with 105 mm L7 gun were based on the Mk.12 hulls (which were Mk.9 fitted with IR equipment and ranging gun (the Mk.9 was a modified Mk.7))
