Nice to see the Chindits modelled for once. I think the rifles would be the No3 (early war version with nose cap) rather than the No4 though.

I agree, the No3 Service Rifle is a better choice.

Always loved that second photo! Left to right, Brigadier J.M. Calvert, Major F. Shaw and Major L.R. Lumley, Bart (with US carbine), Mogaung, during the Second Chindit operation. Calvert took over from Wingate, following the latter’s death in an air crash.

Brigadier Orde Wingate.

Interesting fact that Wingate’s remains are interred at Arlington National Cemetery, along with the remains of the American crew of the B-25 Mitchell bomber where Wingate, his aide and two British War Correspondents, perished.
