Chinese J-20 Stealth Fighter, 1/48 (MENG)

Assembled the landing gear. Absolutely amazed at the fit if these kit parts. This kit us a joy to build.

Added the sensor glass pieces. Meng molds them in a reddish hue so they look good. The fit is outstanding. After gluing them in place I used a “Liquid Chrome” pen and colored the inside faces of the sensors so they are more reflective.

Looking good! Good tip on the chrome pen

Thanks, in hindsight, I thought of backing it with aluminum foil.

I might need one of these to go with my 1/48 Raptor and Lightning II. You’re doing a fantastic job with it.

Absolutely. This fit on this kit is as good as a modern Tamiya kit.

I went ahead and cleaned off the chrome paint from the inside of the sensors and replaced with aluminum foil, shiny side out for a better result.

Would love this one in 1/32 or 1/35!

That would be impressive. I can see Trumpeter doing a 1/32.

These arrived yesterday. 3d printed exhaust for the J-20

Wow! I’m assuming it’s much better than the kit parts?

Much better. Single parts instead of multiple pieces with soft moldings.

Thats a sharp looking build so far! the aircraft itself looks like a cross of a F-22 and Su-37, and the kit looks beautifully detailed!

Painted the 3d printed exhaust. Very nice product. I used Vallejo Metal colors and just used a paint brush. The paint is very easy to work with.
