Color of Eagles paints

Anybody know who carries Color of Eagles paints. Looks like Sprue Bros has a limited amount … of course NOT the color I need … :face_with_symbols_over_mouth: Looking for US Orange Yellow #3051. One review I saw mentioned “Great Models” but all I get is yelp reviews and a link to a local shop thats been closed for 20+ years.

My impression, Great Models was the primary supplier of “Color of Eagles” (Vallejo) paint. I believe Spruebrothers.com purchased Great Model’s webstore. I didn’t see much on COE paint availability in the US beyond that.

FWIW

US Orange Yellow #3051 is available at Spruebrothers.com from MRP Mr. Paint.

MRP sprays outstanding in my experience with various RAL colors. It’s thinned for airbrushing and ready to go right out of the bottle.

I dont do lacquer. (Liquor , yes. Irish DNA.) What little I was able to find Color of Eagles is/was produced by Vallejo for an outfit in Miami, and is acrylic. I dont airbrush, so that aspect doesnt help much either. Mr Color has a lacquer one also. Their other line, Mr Hobby has an acrylic version but only been able to find it out of Europe … with a $20 shipping charge (a place in Italy wanted $35 shipping. (YGTBFSM!!!) Model Master chrome yellow is suppose to be a match but have found 1 bottle for $15. Looks like I may have to break out the KY … BOHICA!

I don’t know anything about the COE paint line, but IF it was manufactured by Vallejo and re-branded, it’s very likely that you can find the same color in Vallejo’s own offerings.

I found that the last 3 digits of the “Flames of War” paint stock numbers, also manufactured by Vallejo, matched the last 3 digits of the original Vallejo paint colors (and were identical to the Vallejo branded paint colors). It may be possible that the COE paints share a similar relationship with original Vallejo branded colors.

3051 is the COE “part” number. Not an FS, RLM,RAL type spec #. Curious though, same color but different makers, type of paint and country of origin (I believe)

I believe that Squadron carried the line back before the old site folded a few years back. The only COE paints that I have in my stash were from them, and I bought them while on deployment overseas 20 years ago. Squadron was one of the few sites that would ship to an APO address at that time, so that sticks in my mind from that time.

ScaleHobbyist has the Acrylic MR. Hobby Orange Yellow GSI H-24 for $2.79 a 10ml Bottle. Hope this helps ! Have a great week !

Good thought. 70. 305 is Panzer Aces line rubber. 70. 051 doesn’t seem to be a valid number.

Cool. No KY required. And , being in NH, I’ll have to see if I can get them to ship the paint in a box of FunnyBones! (Its a New England thing. Like a chocolate covered, chocolate Twinkie with peanut butter filling. Or a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup cake.)
