It look like the same set up as in the M1129 stryker mortar carrier
It is in fact the same one.
That will make things easy except having to by a Trumpeter M1129 just for the mortar assembly
to Build the the IDF version of the M1064A3 can i use the Zelda kit as the base and all the M106 related parts from the tamiya M106 kit?
I donât think the Zelda kit has the side racks and I havenât seen any of the mortar carriers with the Zelda armor. I would start with the AFV Club Nagmash kit, add the external fuel tanks (Academy, Verlinden, or Legend), mortar carrier parts from the M106, and the Stryker mortar.
I just checked on hobby search the M113 give you both the zelda armor and the side racks
3 sprus from the M1129 kit will be required i think the problem would be is getting the M106 kit
MR Modelbau in Germany produce a resin conversion for the M106 with 120mm mortar.M1064A3 Panzermörser auf M113, MR-35074,
The MR Modelbau conversion is for the US M1064A3. It does not include the M106 kit, you still need a Tamiya M106 kit to add the pieces to. It is a great set (I have built it twice for customers) but it doesnât build into an IDF Mortar Carrier.
M1064A3 120mm Mortar Carrier
Hi Gino.
Thanks for commenting.Do the Idf use different mortars?.Be great if a manufacturer did some other 113 variants like the modenised m106.The Tamiya 106 is a rare breed here in U.K.Ive never ever seen one in shops here in the past.
Cheers
Yes, read up further in the thread (Frenchyâs post a few up). They use the same mortar that is in the Stryker Mortar Carrier, different than what is in an M1064A3.
AFAIK, all the pictured mortars are based on the Soltam K-6 but the mount differs from one vehicle to anotherâŠ
Hereâs what it looks like in the M1064A3
