“Thailand and Burma had been invaded.”
Thailand was invaded by the Japanese for all of five hours before a ceasefire followed immediately by an alliance. The British Indian Army invasion lasted about three days. Thailand had had a cozy relationship with Japan for some time and the latter had engineered a favourable (to the Thais) conclusion to a conflict with Vichy French Indochina.
