Made my donation.
Thanks for sharing this fund.

i got this text from dad lastnight:

Went down to the Church Hall to help out as they were appealing for volunteers to help pack up all of the donations destined for Ukraine. I was amazed at the amount of stuff donated: they have had to put a notice on the door that they cannot take anymore donations at the moment as they do not have the space to store them. A truck is supposed to be coming to uplift the donations later this afternoon and we will go down to help with the loading.

and all this was happening in a small “one horse town” in Scotland.

Mods, I don’t know if this is possible on the ‘new’ style forum but could this thread be pinned at the top at least for the time being, just a thought so it gets seen by as many as possible.

I know there are those that are donating via other means and those hopefully in the minority that don’t care.

@Littorio Robin pinned it about 6 minutes ago

Thanks Robin and David, only thing I have noted though is it’s pinned in Armorama so those that don’t frequent the armour pages could possibly miss it on the latest posts page (where I found it, my de facto home page)

All members and staff please do not bring political arguments to items such as this as I have treated Russian and Ukrainian companies the same.

We have created a space where anyone can vent their angst against what is happening from either side within reason and its why we do not wish it displayed here.

I’m currently working on getting an engineering friend (and his wife), out of Moscow. He works for Energia, and his team comes here every 6 months or so and works with our team on ISS equipment. We’ve been doing this together for over 10 years. Even after retirement for me at the end of 2020, we still visit when he is here. His status on working the ISS is threatened by possible sanctions that include the personnel that come here, and his teams’ next visit (June time frame) might be in jeopardy. Getting him, and his wife, here to the US, herein lies my ‘contribution’ to that end.

Its the people caught in the middle who will suffer, who are forgotten about sometimes. Sometimes you cant help where you live but just get caught up in all the crap that comes with it.
