COMMONWEALTH RAILWAYS and AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL CB-class BUDD Railcars
Decals of such markings may not be used for other purposes.
Three (3) RDC-1 Railcars were ordered from the Budd Company (Philadelphia USA) in October 1950. Delivered in 1951, they provided passenger services in South Australia up until 1990.‘CB2’ and ‘CB3’ is listed on Wikipedia as sold into private hands, whilst ‘CB1’ went to the Port Dock Railway Station Museum. The current disposition of all three units is not known to me.
The artwork for these decals was originally developed back in 2014 for N-scale, when I was building a number of models. The artwork was based on both our own research and a set of decals purchased from SAR-NScale.
The artwork has been further refined and incorporates both CR and AN versions for all three Railcars in a single decal set. It has also been rescaled from N (1/160) to HO (1/87).
