I am building a scout version Humvee for a friend that served in Desert Storm. His vehicle was equipped with an M60 thermal sight and had several other unique features. I am specifically trying to sort out the rear hatch area, as I would like to have it open to show internal detail. I have the Royal Models No. 439 photo etch set and am puzzled about the piece based on part A-17. I assume it is a tie down of sorts but cannot find reference photos or descriptions of what it is or where it goes. My friend does not recall having it but does not remember specifically. Anyone have experience with the Royal Models’ set? .

It’ll probably help if you can show this part A17, and/or tell us which make of kit this is 
Probably not Academy, as its A17 is the frame for the windshield, nor Tamiya, since A17 there is part of the front suspension, both of which I assume were on your friend’s HMMWV
