@Klaus-Adler ask me in my Sheridan topic, where I get all my jungle plants for my dios.
Yesterday I make some pictures of this stuff I used.
Of cause, exept the paper jungle plants and the Temu stuff, I bought in germany in 1€ stores in my hometown and in towns around.
The roots and branches, I found in my garden and during forest walks. My wife always love at me, when I found new wood pieces.
This huge buddha I found for 14€ at the shop Action.
It’s a shop from the netherlands you found in nearly complete europe. For the scale, look at the figure on the picture.
I hope this topic is a little bit interesting for you.
When you see the things in different shops with scalemodel eyes, you can save a lot of money.
When I payed 2,99€ for 50 plastic plants in a dekoration Shop, for the same plants you pay 10-15€ for 10 pieces.
I’m trying to decide whether i risk ordering stuff from Diorama-Presepe in Europe (https://www.dioramapresepe.com/).
Living in Australia it’s difficult to get any sort of this plant material locally sourced but the importation laws are very strict.
Does anyone have any experience of this?
I think, the problem order the stuff from this shop, is what you wrote.
The plants are all real plants, you can’t import to australia.
The plants are very nice for diorama building, but very expensive in my eyes.
Maybe you try to order dio stuff from Temu.
Temu sells also real plants like Diorama Presepe, but cheaper.
So, if the australian customer service catch the order, you didn’t lost too much money
Dried or preserved should be ok, i think it just depends on what sort of day the border security agents are having. it’s very frustrating here, as theres practically no local stuff
Dried and from a company like this should be fine. Also the products coming out of Europe would likely be seen as coming from a ‘safer’ biohazard environment than for example products coming out of east or south east Asia.
Absolute worst case is having an imported product seized and destroyed at your cost but that’s usually when it’s large scale with lots of biohazard issues and/or a deliberate attempt to break bio security laws. Generally if there’s any concern about a shipment it will be sprayed at your cost then sent on to you once they’re happy any nasties are gone. For something this size the fee for disinfecting would not be much.
Do these plants come with any descriptor such as saying they’ve been chemically treated or dried or sealed with some sort of coating? If so that would answer most queries at Customs.
