Gentlemen,
you are so kind - thank you very much, and thank you for your patience!
Now I realize that there indeed has been some trouble with the site, one brief sign of life from last week promising updates is gone, which is no problem. There were no pictures anyway.
So after over a month real life let me return to the workbench at least for a little bit.
All of the 2cm/30 are finished and painted, and they came off their boxes without damage.
So unless I break or loose one, small arms business completed. The 28cm I did already last year, the 15cm are still waiting…
And some more progress, worked on the armored bridge and forward superstructure. I decided to paint the wood on the higher levels, instead of cutting pieces from the generic wood deck I still have some parts of.
On the armored bridge I used three sights from Veteran, the lighter colored resin. Great stuff - but honestly, the original parts here are quite matching them, as are other optical instruments. I might stay with the kits parts here, have to see…
For months I had the Shapeways printed bridge as a placeholder, the design by Model Monkey. The design is splendid, but gentlemen Steve was so kind to send me this part (and more) in superior printed resin quality. I had to carefully cut it free, a wonderful part, only minimal cleansing will be required and it has no deformations or voids or whatever - a masterpiece!
Here dry fitted in its future place.
And lastly some more air brush work in preparation for the next steps.
That’s it for now, I hope to have a next update ready faster than last time.
I will change my approach a bit and work more closely to the various instructions, trying to speed up a bit instead of questioning every single detail…I just need some visible progress here…
Cheers and thank you for looking in
Jan
