Dear all!
Now that has been taken substantially longer than anticipated - but then again, you are used to delays here in my build log.
Some more travel had to be done, and in general real life taking up huge chunks of my time these months, but I won’t complain. Only missing time for the workbench.
Now here’s an update, once in a while I found an hour (or even half an hour) to work on some small stuff that goes around the funnel.
Cleaned, painted - and finally installed:
Next the small boats were shipped:
With that, the area around the funnel is basically completed - the 10,5 cm AAA are build and waiting, railing will come later on, as the guns. Some touch ups, and the small cranes will et hooks eventually. And more rigging between fore and main mast. All later, trying not to break too much in the progress that will come…
Now the next challenge - the back of funnel for Gneisenau looks quite different than for Scharnhorst, with some additional platforms. I have studied that a little in between but have not come up with a perfect solution yet. Well, it won’t be perfect, but I intend to install something that makes it at least stand out from the kit’s Scharnhorst outfit…
So much for now, no promises…however, I hope to be back a little more frequent.
