Last week I ordered a set of Sherman tracks from a new(ish) company, DN Studio. I think somebody mentioned them here before, but I’m not sure. I was looking for a set of WE210 tracks, because the Bronco version made me want to punch things. So I decided to give these a try, they were not very expensive and shipping was very reasonable. For about 26 Euros they landed on my door mat.
They arrived today and I gave them a quick try out of curiosity. I was very happy with what I got.
First of all, the packing is really well done and smart. A sturdy frame keeps the box intact and protects the contents.
Putting them together was insanely easy. I pulled out my trusty track building jig, but had absolutely no need for it. These things just click together. Insert an end connector pin into the pad and it snaps in place. Add the next pad and repeat. What you see in the pics took me less then 5 minutes. No clean up required either. An entire run was done in under an hour.
I have no ties to this company, but I am very happy with this product. I know other 3d printing companies make similar products, but they are all more expensive then these guys.
This is their site https://dnstudio.co.uk/ but their sales are for the moment done through Ebay.
From the UK to US is rather painful. The trouble started around the Brexit vote in 2016 and has just got worse over time. I’m sure there’s all sorts of complex politics coupled with the economics of transport rather than a simple cause, but the impact is still bad. And the other way - US to UK - isn’t much better!
I have gotten many items from UK over the years with no issue that I noticed.
I haven’t order much from overseas for a bit, this was done without regard to tariffs and the shipping messy caused by it but my own spending habits in general.
Just had a look on the UK ebay and with shipping and tax (!) unfortunately they are a not great deal anymore. They look great and I hope they can be sold here directly in the US.
It is very easy to ship to the US and thanks to the reasonable trade deal between USA and UK we are able to ship parcels for as little as $5.70 plus 10% of the order value paid as customs duties. They are paid to the shipping company that we use, so the parcel goes straight to the destination address instead of being kept at the customs. As far as we know it gets delivered to the customer within a week.
We curenty sell on eBay only but we have been working on our own on-line store which will be up and running this month.
