I agree about the funky base. It looks cheap and armaturey at the same time. I will probably do the same thing and just use the rails on all of my models and mix up all the tracks in hopes they all blend together so you don’t know they came from different manufacturers. It’s really to early to know yet how it will all work together.

I tend more towards doing dioramas with my military scale railroad models so mixing and matching track is rarely an issue.
