Dragon - M752 Tactical Ballistic Missile Launcher

M752 Tactical Ballistic Missile Launcher

I am building a 1:35 Dragon M752 Tactical Ballistic Missile Launcher. A yes in MERDC of course. I just love that scheme.

It is by far a great kit. At first when you take a peek at the parts it looks OK. But it has poor fitting and even some missing parts that I can see on the real vehicle.

Apart from the poor kit it is a fun build. I spice it up with some nice after marked kits.

Resin parts from Perfect Scale Modellbau 1:35, Etch from Eduard, Eureka XXL tow cables and workable tracks Plus Drive Sprockets & Idlers APC M113 from QUICKTRACKS

Hello!
I like stuff like that, and I like MERDEC too, I’ll be watching. Good luck with your build and have a nice day

Further progress on the Lance model.
The further I dig into to the kit, the more I get disappointed of the quality.
I have been working on weld seams. They are both missing and the few on the kit are poor.
I make them with Tamiya tape and Mr Surfacer. It is very easy. I need to make at lot more of them.

I like those weld seams! Very nicely done!

As I wrote earlier “The further I dig into to the kit, the more I get disappointed of the quality”
That is still the truth about this kit. I keep finding poorly made parts and even lots of missing parts.
I have been working on what I think is a part of the loading ramps mechanism. I could surely use more clear pictures of the vehicle in US service.

Take a trip to White Sands Missile Range, NM and check out their museum. They have one on display.

One closer to home for @Bobber is to be found in the National Military Museum in the Netherlands. There may be others but I don’t know of them, unfortunately. Looking through my photos of that one, though, I didn’t take any specifically of that mechanism. I did take one of a very minor but very obvious detail:

The anti-skid texture on the ramp

Now that is a very nice detail. Now i need to find out if it was locally made or if the US Army also had that detail

You will see it soon. I enjoy our evenings where we build models together

No idea, I don’t know him beyond from this thread  It does seem a rather long and expensive trip to get a detail for a model correct, though.

I don’t know that either, unfortunately. It’s very difficult to see whether it’s there or not in photographs of vehicles in the field. This one in an Israeli museum doesn’t appear to have it, though.

Its far from me too! I wish that I had taken more pics of the vehicle.

This is in New Mexico however. The first atomic bomb was exploded not far from here.

No matter how many photos you take, unless you’re Rob Skipper @18bravo , when you get home there’s a detail you need for the model that’s not in your photos! It’s a research legend.
