This is my 1/35 Sexton Mk II finished as a vehicle from the RCA, 23rd Field Regiment, 31st Battery, “Baker” Troop shortly after landing in Normandy July 1944.
The build is based on the Dragon Sexton kit with a few upgrades added to better capture the look of a Canadian service vehicle. I used Resicast heavy-duty bogies, PanzerWerk CDP tracks, an Aber barrel, and added stowage from Resicast and detail work throughout to give it a more lived-in field appearance.
Even longer in some other countries. Off the top of my head, South Africa had them until the 1980s, I think.
Because I wanted to know for sure, I checked my copies of Jane’s Armour and Artillery. The 1985–86 edition doesn’t have the Sexton, but the 1981–82 one says it was still in service in India and South Africa.
