Eduard 1/48 F6F. - 3

Here is my just completed Eduard Hellcat . A very nice kit built OOB except for Eduard resin wheel set an antenna masts filed from brass / monofilament antenna.

… and with protagonist…

A really nice kit - the only issue is the prop mounting.
The pin as supplied is way too long and the fit of the pin in the reduction gear housing and prop hub is too loose. I had to glue all to keep prop from sagging.
Paint is largely Gunze - both acrylic and lacquer.
Primed with Tamiya fine grey in rattle can, pre shaded with black , base colors post highlighted with lightened base color. Tamiya gloss clear before and after decals . Panel line pin wash with Payne’s grey oils , Dullcoat over all then decals toned down with a mist of highly thinned earth yellow .
Thanks for looking- all comments welcome.
Cheers- RT

Very nice. I have that kit and want to build it someday. I’ve always liked the rugged look of the Hellcat. It’s called dumpy and ugly by some, but to me it always look like a bruiser waiting for the next brawl.

Nice work.
