Am I the only one to get bollocksed up decal sheet for this kit? I/m doing the 357th FG version and I got TWO left door 363d Sqn decals! (Or am I totally f*cking stupid?) Photo#1: Left side of the aircraft. Looks good to me. Eyes forward. Photo # 2:Right side of aircraft. notice anything strange? Photo #3: REAL 363d aircraft. 1943. Sure dont look like what I have. Figure THEY probably got it right. Photo # 4: Decal sheets as per Eduards website. That looks good. I e-mailed Eduard and their reply was basiclly,“You are an idiot and put the decals on arse-backwards.” Been doing this since 68. I think Ican figure out decal directions.
Are you sure you did not flip one of them, and are looking at the back of it? The suspicious thing is that the first image has the sword without the dripping blood and all the other ones have the blood… So maybe the flipped decal is on the left side?
It looks like you may have put the decals on the wrong sides of the aircraft. The numbers may be transposed or the directions off. If you swap the sides. they will face the right way.
That’s what it looks like.
The image of the decal sheet shows the swords facing different dierections. On the model they’re both facing to the left. If they were simply swapped they’d still be facinf in opposite directions.
Is it me, or has there been an inordinate amount of P-39 posts this past week?
The photo of the sheet shows 2 different … left and right. On the kit the left side is correct. . The right side is arse backwards. If you take the one on the left and move it to the right itis STILL backwards. And, if they were correct mirror images and I put them on the wrong way both would be facing the wrong direction. If I put the decal on backwards it would be just a white circle. (Doh!) Arma bollocksed their decals for this up too.
If it was on upside/ printed side down it would be a white circle.
Well… the gal at Eduard looked at the photos of the end result and said " What the Hell?" S’pose to be sending a new sheet. Hope this one is like the one on their website. Oh, Pass on the Arma kit if you are doing the 357th bird. We know their decals are arse backwards. Now … to figure out where the aircraft was actually at with these markings. Tonopah,SantaRosa, or Oroville?
