So it’s just the wooden structure without the jib boom? Seems like the old CMK conversion set is still a more complete option.

The CMK set is very old. I’ve been converting for a few years, there was a lot of research, and in the meantime the photos from above came out. It’s not just a wooden superstructure. It’s a frame and the wooden planks were put into it. And thanks to 3D printing technology, the log attachment and other details could be reproduced. The Bergepanzer III is a matter of my heart. Only the time took a long time, but again it was worth being patient.

What I want to know is why none of the kit makers have done one in styrene. I’m sure it would be a popular subject, compare the Bergepanther. Instead we get any number of Tigers and “Paper Panzers” that I personally am not interested in.

Because it’s only over time that new photos have come to light. Everybody who did Bergepanzer III before got it wrong. It was only a few years ago that pictures of what it looked like inside came out. In the meantime, other photos showed the details. The previous conversion makers made a lot of things up. There were also several body styles. Two variations of fittings. Then several variations of how high the log holders were placed, etc etc. For many years I had the superstructure finished but there were few references for details. These came to light so I could complete the conversion. Everyone wants a Tiger.:)))
