I stumbled on this on, of all things, the RAOC Staff Clerks’ Faceache site; if anyone actually needs inspiration to model a Leopard or Chieftain, or Abrams even, this’ll probably do the trick.
Panzers thrashing across the German countryside - what’s not to like?
I know Richard, I’m torn between a Leopard or a Chieftain, or perhaps the Abrams (the Panda one is started in my shelf of doom). Or even a figure vignette showing some soldiers digging/dug in. Jeez, plenty of inspiration but the time, the time…!
I built one while stationed in Germany sometime between 85’ and 87’, painted it with a brush and then left it behind when I rotated back to the states. Probably ended up in the garbage lol.
Richard, I’ve got enough on at the moment, though I could easily be tempted after that video!
I have my Land Rover/Trailer combo to complete, or rather the base and figures; I must then address a Belgian Army Minerva as we’re exhibiting at Belgium later this year, and we always try and make a model of something Belgian as a sort of homage to our hosts; I should really get it out of the way. Perhaps then I could be tempted by a Leopard.
Yes I hear ya, I’ve been clearing out old projects as well. What a great feeling when one can finish a model that’s been sitting around forever and can move onto something new.
My next project will be the Suez diorama. I started it a few years ago with the Egyptian SU-100, I have the British 3 Para jeep in the painting phase. Then it’s on to the figures and building and ground work etc…..
I remember you mentioned it; didn’t we discuss '44 Pat Webbing? Pics would be good - even if in “progress” - always a suspect word, or at least for my modelling velocity(!)
Yes we did- I plan on trying to modify the back packs to get them to look close at least to the ‘44 pattern. The canteens will be modified also, how hard can it be with just a little putty?
