Saw this one on the site of Hobbylink. I don’t know the brand, so I can not tell how good the Sherman is…
That looks a great addition for the Sherman fan. Lets hope it does not live up to the manufacturers name.
They are a small Taiwanese company. Takom and few other Chinese have many similar products. Not sure who is first but the others have a better distribution network.
This is just a combination of an Asuka Sherman and Pig Model’s T1E3 kit that has already been released. And Pig Models does really good, estoric stuff; Takom, nor anyone else, has done a T1E3 in plastic until Pig.
I bought the mine exploder about 6 months ago and it is really excellent. Fine molding, no warpage, excellent detail. I plan to put it on one of my Asuka Shermans, so there ya go…
Bedankt voor de info… At least we know that the Sherman will be more than decent…
Missed the window of opportunity to purchase the mine exploder thingy at a decent price. Oh well. Still adjusting to how model sales work in 2024.
On Missing-Lynx, it’s mentioned that it will cost about €120. As I said there, the Pig Models T1E3 by itself cost me US$35 including postage earlier this year, which is around €30, and an Asuka Sherman is about half as much as that again. For the alleged price of the set, you could buy two Asuka Shermans and one mine roller, so even if I didn’t already have the separate roller in the stash, I would pass on the set …
However … checking Pig Models’s own site just now, it says US$81 for the tank plus roller, which is far more reasonable:
I chose just to purchase the Mine exploder,
As I have 4 of Taska M4A1 kits.
They were released by Eduard at one time
.
It looks good I’m bit unsure why the figure is included
yes WTF:sweat_smile:
The mine roller allegedly was called Aunt Jemina. After the pancakes.
And the fig was the mascot of the brand.
I miss seeing her smiling face in the morning, but I guess I could always eat actual maple syrup instead of HFCS.
With cast in appliqué armor, which the Asuka kit does not have.
Glue the plates on and smooth them in with some Bondo red putty. NBD.
Hey, boomer! It needs a 3D-printed upper hull with the correct details! Never mind that it will cost as much as the plastic kit you’re supposed use it on, and cleaning it up will take more time and effort. Plastic card and putty, what are you, born in the fifties? Jeez!
