Just hire at Deutsche Bahn or a trackway construction company.

Some REALLY impressive machines for rebuilding trackways.

A shame that no one make them in HO gauge.

The tracklaying trains where the front end rides the old rails,
rips out the old ones underneath itself and replaces it with new
rails so that the rear end rides on the new rails.
Beats showel, pick-axe and sledge-hammer any day of the year …

KIBRI company makes some track working machines. But these are too primitive for the price.

This:

Looks very much like a V 60, of which I own several from Piko. Ite edges are a little more angular all the way around but I’ll bet it’s a good basis for a conversion.

This oe might get you closer, but I don’t own one:

There is also the V150 from BRAWA
http://www.bahnwahn.de/steckbrief/brpckv150-4/

Note the different bogies (no external coupling rods), motors drive the axles
instead of a central drive axle (without wheels) driving the other four via
coupling rods.

Hi Rob,
this is a V100 from ex-Reichsbahn. Some of the railway construction companies use material from ex Reichbahn. This is a very complex theme, I am glad that I don´t collect railways.
I was glad that I could follow a railway reconstruction in my old hometown back in 2006.
BTW Is there anything that you don´t collect?

Service history for this particular V100 (204 803-1, ex DR 114 803-0)

Since I got married? No, not really.

I did not know that was based on a V100. They’ve altered it somewhat. Good news - here’s one of my V100s. I prefer the orange ones. I disassembled this one with the intent of putting it on Athearn switcher running gear. Piko trains were not the best running, but they offered things that Fleischmann did not. At least back then. The transformation was working too, but I got sidetracked as I often do. As you can see I started removing cast on rails and replacing them with wire. I also open up all of the screens with the intent replacing them with brass screen.

I may have to repaint it. The finish is horrible. Typical craftsmanship von den Genossen. In fact it would be a good candidate for the above Lok.

By the way, it was primarily the girl collection I had to cut back on.
Followed by motorcycles. Models, guns, and other smaller items are still okay too. She gives me incentive - every time I buy another bike she gets another cat.
