F-16XL Conformal Tanks in 1/72?

Hello Everyone,

I was hoping someone might know. I have a Monogram F-16XL in 1/72 that I would like to build as an IAF F-16 with conformal tanks. Does anyone make any aftermarket that would fit? Or is it way to much work to try to make some (scratch build). Any help or information is greatly appreciated..

Best,

Walter

There is a few options and some might fit the Monogram kit or be close enough but tougher task is to find one of them for sell I believe.

Hello Ryan,

Thanks for the info. Forgot to check Scalemates.
I would think that maybe the Revell kits would be closer to the Monogram kit.
Just think this would be a neat project. Thanks again for the help.

to my knowledge, the F-16XL was nothing but a prototype, has never been produced in large numbers and was never used operationally by any country, including Israel. So this would be a “whatif” project.

I strongly doubt that any special weapon or fuel tank has ever been produced specially for a prototype.

However, i thnink that the fuselage was more or less identical to the standard F-16 which means that the conformal fuel tanks made for an F-16 could just fit.
