Ferret Mk.2 BATUS

Hello guys!

I working on my second model. Overall, this is a nice little kit, I think.
More and more accessories are coming, so I might build it again one day. The Nepalese Army’s ZPU-equipped versions, for example, are quite appealing.

So, the paint job.
I useing the AK grey primer spray, for the primer coat, and the base color was the Tamiya TS-2.
I’m not sure if it’s the right shade of green, but as I’m still using spray paint at the moment, my options are pretty limited.
For the red, I was use Tamiya X-7 color, which I painted with brush. For the little details, and accessories, I use AK markers. I love these markers more and more. Makes the work very easy.
Before applying the decals, I used AK’s semi gloss varnish.
In the following time I would like to work on the scratches/weathering, and I plan to make a little vignettes.

For a rattle can paint job, looks real nice, As soon as you can, invest in a decent air brush. Don’t buy a cheap one from Amazonk. Steep learning curve, but much more economical, probably safer, and more versatile.

I must look into those AK markers you mention. Happy building!

Very nice work, the paint job looks great. Is this the Airfix kit in 1/35th scale?

Good afternoon!

I continued with the kit. I’ve touched up the scratches and got a little dirt on it for colour dulling.
I used watercolour pencils (moss green and grey) and AK’s markers (singal red, olive green) for the minor wears.
For the larger ones I used dry brush (Tamiya XF76 and XF24).
For the dirty effect I used Ammo’s dark brown wash.
I still have to do some dusting with pigments.

I’m working on the vignette. The base made from blue foam. I panted with acrylic paint (sand color), and after that I create the soil.
I use white glue, water, acrylic paint (sand and earh brown) and plaster.
For the contrast I use some sand color pigment (MIG3012) and I drybrush with Vallejo pale sand (70837).
The grass turf came from China. And I will would like to add some bush and flower also.
The barbed wire made from thin copper wire. I burned the wire for the greyis color, with flame. After that I drybrushing with Tamiya XF56.
The wood column made from mixer sticks. I scraped the surface with a rock scraper and sanded several times during the painting process between coats with a 60 and 100 grit sander.
For the wood color I use various type of color mix (Vallejo black, white, earth brown, light gray) and some dark brown wash.

Blue foam is a great material, I love working with it.

Here my “universal base” from blue foam.

Good afternoon!

I’m going slowly with the vignette. A few more repair are needed. But I don’t think I’ll make any major changes.
