I ordered the 1/72 Legend figure for my Hellcat and after viewing it again I noticed something missing.
Pilots parachute
Or was it placed on seat ready for pilot?
I’ve seen photos of pilots with chute strapped to them.

Chute usually sits in the seat pan acting as a cushion. Pilot gets in and straps his harness to the chute. Usually.
But it appears this figure is not wearing the harness. Perhaps not planning on getting shot out of the sky?

Makes sense but I could always scratch build one out of milliput.
If memory serves me right the Hellcat I’ll be doing is paper Doll and that made it back heavily damaged and had to be pushed off deck.

Totally theorizing here (sounds like @18bravo knows more and is saying the harness was a separate thing) but every time I’ve strapped into a plane with a chute, the harness is part of the chute pack and stays in the plane and you climb in the plane, sit on the chute, strap it on, then fasten the five-point harness (the “seatbelt” itself) over everything.
Maybe there’s something similar going on here?
Just an idea. Feel free to shoot it out of the sky.
