Finemolds 1/48th Snowspeeder ”Sandspeeder” in Caunter. Finished!

That’s the one, were any of them built?

None of those which was a shame , Ron W built this one though.

I would like to do an RAF or US Navy one though

I do like the Royal Navy one, but I also like the Swedish X wing and Slovakian Y wing.

Thanks for the great feedback everyone. Daft as this may be, it is satisfying!

Final decals on, clear on top of them, and dark chipping on upper surfaces. Going for panel line wash next.

An excellent all round build and paint finish.

Thanks John. Matt coat on, Tamiya LP thinned with mr colour thinner, not levelling. I like this stuff. Then post shading with tamiya flat brown and a tiny bit of black heavily thinned with 99% ipa. Maybe gone a bit heavier than meant to but looks pretty worn now!

Take that and a few of the other caunter themed builds mate … :+1:

Thanks John. Have fully assembled after a very subtle highlighting with deck tan. Just a couple of pics before finding the card background and doing some proper shots.

They sit great together mate. Nice visual look … I’d be giving that an award :+1:

Thanks John. Didn’t take anything to the show, was strapped for time so was a quick blast round it.

Some pics with the neutral background. Didn’t weather the underneath as much as the top, wanted to move on, but pretty pleased with the final result. The hole in the middle of the “radiator fins” on the back is prepared for a 2mm rod for proper flight presentation.

Thanks for coming along on another Caunter adventure!

Edit, Damn it! Just noticed got two parts on the wrong sides! Not glued so easy fix…

That looks bloody awesome! The lines in the Caunter scheme really suits the angles of this model- makes it look aggressive yet it also works as a camo should to break up the outlines of the Speeder.

The weathering is an important factor too I think as you have brought out the various panel lines and recessed details while also giving it a bit of a grimey finish.

Many thanks John @Johnnych01 and Karl @Karl187 that’s very kind of you, I really enjoyed this build.

Great paint job Jim, the finish is amazing. Please don’t take this as anything other than high praise, but had I seen the last set of images in isolation I’d have thought they were computer rendering, they’re so subtle, :+1: :slightly_smiling_face:.

G,.

Thank you very much G @G-man69 , I really do appreciate that. The Caunter scheme is very satisfying to do, and managed to do four models with the AK real colour set, just the Portland stone needing replaced. Need to figure out the next 1/48th kit for this growing collection!

Thanks again!
